The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti/Devi are worshiped. Navratri is a very important and major festival in the western states of Gujarat,India during which the traditional dance of Gujarat called "Garba" is widely performed. Garba is folk dance which people use to dance after the Durga Pooja with the groups and live orchestra or devotional songs.Everyone dresses up in traditional dresses. Females puts on a costume which is popularly known as chaniya choli/ ghaghra choli and the male wears dhoti and kediyu.
